Susan Njuguna has felt a need to respond to those most vulnerable around her since she was a youth. As a teenager she began rescuing young children who were in harm's way. Today her home offers a safe haven to twenty-three youths. She provides them with food, support and access to education.
In addition to her work with children Susan makes and sells briquettes which she manufactures out of waste charcoal dust, plant waste and water. It's a way to generate income for her extended family.
